Semican is a seed company that has been part of the agricultural landscape of Quebec for 40 years. We also have a presence in Eastern Ontario, and for several decades in the Atlantic Provinces and Maine.
Semican focuses on diversification, and consists of three divisions:
Seed : Our goal is to offer varieties of seeds and products that maximize the profitability of producers. The work carried out by our research professionals, at the Semican Research Center in Princeville, QC, and our agreements with end users, makes it possible to achieve this objective. All while respecting agriculture that is healthy for the environment.
Feed : The Feed Division specializes in feed for horses, birds and livestock. Our variety of horse feed products, various dry and cubed hay, bird feed, gardening products and horse supplies are suited to meet all your needs.
SemicanSoy : The SemicanSoy Division produces and markets the top IP soybean varieties, with our experts supporting agricultural producers in the field, and supply and sale of soybeans through national and international markets.
Semican continues to add value to the agriculture industry. In early 2022 we will commission our new Barley dehulling and pearling line, and in Fall 2022 we will commission our new Oat flaking line. We are also expanding our access to international markets by promoting our growers conventional and organically grown products with our international customer base.

We have a number of delivery points throughout Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes making Semican a natural choice as your agriculture partner.
PEI Federation of Agriculture is a non-profit, democratic organization of Island farmers working together for the betterment of primary producers. The organization speaks to issues that are not commodity-specific but affect all Island farmers. We are the largest general agricultural organization in P.E.I. with a membership of over 80% of all registered producers, drawn from all commodities.
